PART 1: APPS
-
Have you deleted any apps from your phone recently?
Yes, I recently deleted a few apps from my phone. I realized that I had quite a few apps that I wasn't using regularly, so I decided to declutter my phone. For instance, I removed a couple of games that I hadn't played in months and a few shopping apps that were just taking up space. It feels refreshing to have a more organized phone now. -
Have you spent money on any apps?
Yes, I have spent money on a few apps. I believe in investing in quality applications that enhance my productivity or provide value. For example, I purchased a premium version of a photo editing app because it offered advanced features that were really useful for my work. Additionally, I've subscribed to a language learning app, which I find very beneficial for improving my skills.
PART 2:
Describe a time when you answered a phone call from someone you didn’t know in public places
You should say:
-
When and where it happened
-
What he/she said
-
How you corresponded
And explain how you felt about the experience.
Today, I'd like to talk about a time when I answered a phone call from someone I didn’t know while I was in a public place.
I remember this happened a few months ago when I was waiting at a bus stop around 6 p.m. The area was quite crowded with people heading home after work. Suddenly, my phone rang, and I saw an unknown number. Normally, I don’t answer such calls, but out of curiosity, I decided to pick up.
The person on the other end introduced himself as a bank representative. He claimed there was an issue with my account and asked me to confirm some personal details. His tone sounded professional, but something felt off. He wanted my full name and account number, which made me suspicious.
Instead of giving my details, I asked him to clarify the issue. However, he kept avoiding my questions and insisted I verify my information first. That’s when I realized it was probably a scam. I told him I would visit my bank directly and ended the call immediately.
At first, I felt a bit nervous because the call seemed urgent, but after thinking it through, I was more annoyed than worried. I also felt relieved that I didn’t fall for the scam. This experience taught me to be more cautious with unknown calls, especially in public places where it’s easy to get distracted. Since then, I’ve been extra careful whenever I receive calls from unfamiliar numbers.
PART 3:
-
Do most people mind others talking on the phone in public places?
Yes, I think many people do mind when others talk on the phone in public places, especially if it's loud and intrusive. It can be quite distracting and sometimes even rude, as it disrupts the peace and quiet that people often expect in places like public transport, libraries, or cafes. -
Why do some people not care what they do in public places?
Some people might not care about their behavior in public places due to a lack of awareness or consideration for others. They might be engrossed in their own world or simply not realize how their actions affect those around them. In some cases, it might be a cultural or personal difference in what is considered acceptable behavior. -
Should people be banned from talking loudly in public places?
I think it would be difficult to enforce a complete ban on talking loudly in public places, but there should be guidelines or signs reminding people to be considerate. In certain settings, like libraries or certain sections of public transport, it makes sense to have stricter rules to maintain a peaceful environment. -
Do you think parents should teach their children not to behave badly in public places?
Absolutely, parents play a crucial role in teaching their children how to behave appropriately in public. It's important for children to learn about respect and consideration for others from a young age, which includes understanding how their actions can impact people around them. -
What are the differences between sitting beside a person who keeps talking on the phone and a person who keeps talking to you?
If someone keeps talking on the phone, it can be distracting because you only hear one side of the conversation, and they might speak loudly. It also feels impersonal, as they’re not engaging with you. On the other hand, if someone keeps talking to you, it can be tiring, but at least there’s interaction. You might find the conversation interesting or have the option to end it politely, which isn’t possible with a phone call.
